শব্দাবলী স্টুডিও থিয়েটার ১৯৯১ সালের ৩১ ডিসেম্বর বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে প্রথমবারের মত বরিশাল শহরের সদর রোডস্থ “লুকাস বিল্ডিং” এ গঠন করা হয় “শব্দাবলী স্টুডিও থিয়েটার” নিজস্ব মঞ্চে স্বাধীনভাবে কাজ, নাটকের প্রয়োজনে ও চিন্তার প্রয়োগের জন্য মঞ্চের আলাদা আলাদা বিন্যাস, নিজস্ব আলোক ব্যবস্থা, শব্দনিয়ন্ত্রণ ব্যবস্থা, আসন ব্যবস্থাসহ নানা বিষয় নিয়ে এটি একটি পূর্ণাঙ্গ ‘স্টুডিও থিয়েটার’ এটি দক্ষিণ বাংলার ব্যস্ততম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নগরী বরিশালের প্রাণকেন্দ্র সদর রোড লুকাস কম্পাউন্ডে অবস্থিত। ৭০-৮০ জন দর্শক ধারণ ক্ষমতা রয়েছে এ মিলনায়তনে। তবে তা স্টুডিও কনসেপ্টে যুতসই।​
